How I Started My Blogging Journey by Borrowing ₹500 From a Friend

 

Everyone starts somewhere. My blogging journey did not begin with a big investment, professional knowledge, or a perfect plan. It started at a time when I had no work and was looking for something meaningful that I could do to improve my situation.

Today, I am working on my third website, but there is an interesting story behind how everything started. My first website began with just ₹500 that I borrowed from a friend.

How I Discovered Blogging

At that time, I did not have any regular work. Like many people searching for opportunities online, I used to watch YouTube videos to learn about different ways of earning money through the internet.

During this search, I came across videos about blogging and Google AdSense.

I learned that it was possible to create a website using Blogger, publish useful articles, attract readers through Google Search and potentially earn money through Google AdSense.

The idea immediately caught my attention.

I did not have professional writing experience or much technical knowledge about websites. Terms such as SEO, indexing, backlinks and website optimization were still new to me.

But I understood one simple thing: if I could learn how to create useful content and build a website, there was at least an opportunity to create something of my own.

Instead of waiting until I knew everything, I decided to start and learn along the way.

I Borrowed ₹500 From My Friend

There was one major problem: I did not even have enough money to comfortably spend on starting a website.

So, I borrowed ₹500 from one of my friends.

For someone else, ₹500 might not sound like a large investment. For me, however, that money represented my first real step into the world of blogging.

I used the money to get started and created my first website on Blogger.

I still had a lot to learn. Whenever I faced a problem, I searched for tutorials, watched videos and tried to understand how things worked.

Slowly, I started publishing articles and improving the website.

I had no guarantee that it would work. I simply kept trying.

My First Website Got AdSense Approval

Then something happened that gave me a lot of confidence.

Within approximately one month, my first website was approved for Google AdSense.

Getting that approval felt like a major achievement.

Just a few weeks earlier, I had been someone with no work, very limited knowledge about blogging and only ₹500 borrowed from a friend to begin the journey.

Now, I had created a website that had successfully received AdSense approval.

It proved something important to me: I was capable of learning something completely new and turning an idea into a real project.

However, getting AdSense approval and building a successful website are two very different things. I did not understand that properly at the time.

The Biggest Mistake I Made

After AdSense approval, I expected the website to start generating good income.

That did not happen.

In the beginning, the website was generating only a small amount of income. Since I did not have much experience with blogging at that time, I was unsure about how long it would take for the website to grow. I decided to focus on other work, and gradually I stopped giving enough time and attention to the website.

I started focusing on other work.

Gradually, I stopped publishing regularly. My attention moved away from blogging, and eventually the domain of my first website expired.

Looking back, I consider this one of the biggest mistakes of my early blogging journey.

The website had already crossed an important milestone by getting AdSense approval, but I did not give it enough time to grow.

I cannot know what would have happened if I had continued working on it. Maybe it would have succeeded, or maybe it would not have. But I would certainly have gained much more experience.

That experience taught me not to judge a long-term project only by its initial results.

From My First Website to My Third Website

My first website disappeared, but my interest in blogging did not disappear completely.

I tried again.

There were more experiments, mistakes and lessons along the way. Today, I am working on my third website—the website where you are reading this story.

This website has also been submitted to Google AdSense.

Will Google approve it?

I do not know yet.

This time, however, I want to approach blogging differently.

Instead of chasing only the number of articles or thinking only about AdSense approval, I want to create content based on my actual experiences.

I want to document what I try, what works, what fails and what I learn.

If this website gets approved, I will share that experience. If it gets rejected, I will share the rejection, the possible reasons and the changes I make before trying again.

In other words, I want this website to document the real journey rather than showing only the successful parts.

What My Blogging Journey Has Taught Me

My journey is still at an early stage, but it has already taught me several valuable lessons.

You do not always need perfect circumstances to begin. I started with borrowed money and almost no practical blogging experience.

I also learned that starting something is only the first step. Consistency becomes much more important after the initial excitement disappears.

Most importantly, earning money online is not as simple as creating a website, publishing a few articles and placing advertisements on it. Building something valuable takes patience, learning, experimentation and time.

Conclusion

My first blogging journey started with ₹500 borrowed from a friend. That first website received Google AdSense approval within about a month, but because of my own decisions and lack of consistency, I eventually stopped working on it and allowed the domain to expire.

Today, I am working on my third website with more experience and a different mindset.

I still do not know where this journey will take me. My current website is under consideration for Google AdSense, and I am waiting to see what happens next.

This website will not be a place where I pretend that everything works perfectly. I want to share the experiments, mistakes, failures, improvements and achievements that happen along the way.

My journey started with just ₹500 and one small decision to try something new.
